Outdoor Toilet: Where will you be when nature calls?
For both public and private land, the benefits of reducing the impact of human excrement are well known. Human excrement attracts insects and animals, has an unpleasant odor, effects water quality and is an unsightly hindrance to enjoying the great outdoors. The Wilderness Toilet provides a centralized place that meets the requirements of that particular park or wilderness area. It can be located where there's adequate soil to facilitate decomposition, an acceptable distance from surface water and is above the high water mark for the area. Cat holes are easily dug up and avoiding landmines while gathering firewood or hiking off trail does not add to the experience.
We have been building these outdoor toilets for over 25 years and have sold 1,000s of units. Our pit-style, campsite latrines are currently in use across Minnesota's Boundary Waters Canoe Area, Yellowstone National Park, 100s of private hunting shacks and beyond. The main reason units are decommissioned is fire and tree damage. They hold up to mother nature and will be in service season after season.
Weather you're a Park Ranger, Conservation Officer, Guide or just someone looking for a better stool structure for your outhouse, this is the product for you. Many of these units are carried in by hand, horseback, canoe or dog sled and we know just getting this unit to your outlying location can be a significant investment. These can be easily stacked for transport and are stout enough to hold any camper that can make it into the back country. Made from high-quality, durable fiberglass and a UV-resistant gelcoat exterior, they will be the last pit toilet you ever have to transport to that site.
